Learning 2025

Effective People and Performance Management

Sept. 10, 2025, 10 am - 2 pm, Walla Walla Airport Terminal Building Conference Room, 45 Terminal Loop, Walla Walla. Free. Light lunch provided.

Sherwood Trust and the Nonprofit Association of Washington present a free workshop on Effective People and Performance Management, September 10, from 10 am - 2 pm at the Walla Walla Airport Terminal Building Conference Room. Learn about feedback, supervisory skills and difficult conversations with Colleen Malmassari, who has more than 15 years of expertise in Federal and Washington State employment law as well as employee-centered strategic activities.

Whether you are a small shop, or a volunteer run organization, your nonprofit’s success depends on finding qualified, dedicated people and keeping them happy, engaged, and accountable. While small nonprofits face complex challenges in accessing and implementing strategic human resource management, leaders at all levels can still pursue impactful systems, even with limited time and resources.

Understanding the essentials is critical because nonprofit HR includes areas required for compliance with local, state, and federal law as well as great team development. In this workshop designed for small nonprofits with 1 – 50 employees, participants will explore regulations and practices that support an organization’s ability to pursue its mission in the most effective way possible through talent management, compliance, recruitment, and onboarding.

While this training is designed for organizations with 1-50 employees, all are welcome to join and learn about healthy nonprofit HR practices!

A light lunch will be provided.
