Mental Health Support Helps Students Thrive

2026 Core Grant: $20,500 for student mental health counseling

Students learn best when they are supported as whole people. That includes academic help, encouragement, safety, and access to mental health support when challenges arise.

In a small district like Prescott, school-based mental health counseling can play an especially important role. Students may not always have easy access to counseling outside of school, and families can face barriers related to distance, availability, cost, or scheduling.

By supporting mental health counseling for students, Prescott School District can help young people build coping skills, navigate stress, address behavioral concerns, and connect with additional support when needed. These services can also help teachers and families better understand what students are carrying and how to respond.

Mental health care in schools is not separate from education. It helps create the conditions where students can participate, grow, and see a future for themselves.

Sherwood Trust is proud to support Prescott School District’s student mental health counseling through a 2026 Core Grant.
